CGNPC Yangjiang Nuclear Power Base has reduced carbon dioxide by over 200 million tons.

On April 7, China General Nuclear Power Co., LTD released the power generation data of each nuclear power base in the first quarter of 2022. Since the first unit was put into operation on March 25, 2014, yangjiang Nuclear Power Base has accumulated about 250 billion KWH of online power, equivalent emission reduction of carbon dioxide over 200 million tons, equivalent to replacing standard coal over 75 million tons.About 562,000 hectares of forest will be planted, adding green development momentum to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant is an important project of China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) to implement the “large-scale, serialized and standardized” development of national nuclear power. It is also a key energy project of the state during the 11th Five-Year Plan period. It has approved the construction of six million-kilowatt pressurized water reactor nuclear power units at a time.In July 2019, all six units of yangjiang Nuclear Power Base were completed, which can provide about 48 billion KWH of clean electric energy annually, replace about 14.52 million tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 39.936 million tons, and afforestation about 108,000 hectares.Yangjiang Nuclear Power co., LTD has been practicing the mission of clean energy development for the people for a long time, contributing to the realization of the “double carbon” goal and effectively making clean energy a powerful support for the construction of a beautiful China!
